I went with the P version of 31" x 10.5" size tires.

Passenger vehicle. Lighter weight and the load rating is different compared to full flotation truck tires, aka 31", 32", 33".

Yes they will work, so will E load tires, but with stock gearing there is a significant performance loss with heavy and oversize tire/wheel combinations compared to a lighter tire/wheel that is load rated for the XJ. The difference is exaggerated by stock gearing. And for sand, a tire rated for the XJ will air down more effectively than a stiff truck tire which takes lower pressures to achieve the same footprint.

Clayton has the narrowest profile of all the shackles I have seen, also the best built. Look at the difference between Clayton and IronRock.

they would hit unless it was on the last hole, and at that point I would have an angle in the wrong direction. I think I'm leaning towards boost werks shackles. They look pretty sweet and they are supposed to flex better and reduce strain on unibody and spring when flexing.

I can't tell you what you'll be happy with. Depends on how you drive and how you use your jeep. I hate it because it sucks pulling a trailer, it sucks driving on the highway, sucks pulling out into traffic, and it just doesn't have power. Hopefully soon I'll regear but until then it sucks. They were made with a 27" tire in mind so a 31" is a lot heavier and a lot more work to turn then those little tires.
