My question is what parts will I need for it to be drivable.. im not looking to be doing toooo much off roading. Thankyou so much!
The better question is why you mechanic did practically half a job and probably didnt even charge you half.

okay thankyou so much, is the sye and driveshaft necessary or would a transfer case drop kit get the job done?

TC drops are a band aid fix they are OK for short term use but thats about it. You can get a SYE for $200ish and run a JY front drive shaft. Also don't forget pinion angle shims.

ok i skimmed though this 1600 page thread for my answer. i didn't see it. maybe i missed it. saw a couple of questions close to my question and i'm even more confused now..lol but here it goes..

2000 cherokee. RE 3.5" kit. i want to run a 31" BFG A/T. 15x8 wheel. just not sure on the backspace. i do not want the tire sticking out past the stock flares. pretty sure we put 3.75 backspace on my sons cherokee (3.5" and 31") and i do not like how far his tires stick out. afraid if i go 4" backspace that they will still stick out too far. does anyone have pics of cherokees with close to the same lift and 31's and different backspace rims? i'm iopen to a different size tire (metric numbers?) if thats makes a difference.

anyone know off the top of their head what backspace the stock wheels are?

Stock wheels are 5.25", but you can't run 31s on them without rubbing. 4" BS is pretty standard

I'm running 4.5" back spacing on 32x10 tires on a RE 4.5" lift with no frame rubbing. It needed minor trimming of the front bumper end caps though. They only stick out about a half inch on each side.

Here is 4.5" BS on P265/75/15 (31" equivalent but considerably lighter and a smoother ride).
The wheels are 5.5 backspacing, running 1" hub-centric spacers.
Note, fender flares are 3/4" wider than stock in these pics.

That ain't right, buddy. 235/75R15 is around 28.5" ±.5" depending on tire pressure

I use spacers for one main reason, lifted 4.5". Wanted a wider, more stable stance to compensate.
Jeep also fits better in the deep ruts from full-size fisherman trucks that do not air-down. Previously jeep would track back and forth, bouncing off each tire berm.
