Thanks! Maybe someone else can chime in on the back spacing or if anyone knows of any good but cheaper rims that would work better can you post them?. Also one more question. RC has two 3" lift kits, one comes with new lower control arms. Do i need the new lower control arms or will the stock ones work?
Kits:
With LCA's

Without

It's a $100 difference and I'd like to keep cost down as much as possible.

I asked this once and wished i would have responded sooner but got busy. Can i put 31" tires on my stock XJ RIMS. I'm planning on lifting the XJ with a 3" rough country lift but don't really want to buy all new rims too. If i can do this what size tire should i look for? Thanks!
I know there's quite a bit of info out there on doing this but was hoping to get input on this particular setup. I have two mtz's 33x12.5x15 that are brand new. I also have two procomo mt's 33x12.5x15 that are like 85% tread. The procomps are slightly smaller than the new mtz,s maybe like 3/8" if that. I'll attach pics.
Was wondering how big of a problem it would be to put on these two different sets together. I know as a rule of thumb people don't like to do this. I'll probably never have it in 4wd on pavement. Strictly sand dirt or mud. Is 1/4" to 3/8" too much size difference you think?

32x11.50x15 master craft mxt on 15x8 American racing steel wheels don't know back spacing and have spidertrax 1.25 in wheel spacers
Zj coils with 1 inch spacer in front
2 in shackle add a leaf in rear for roughly 3-3.5 inches of lift. I'm needing to know how long my tie rod should be or drag link adjusted or any specs that could help please.. Pics would be appreciated but any info is great thanks

I'm getting ready to get my lift on in the next 2 weeks (getting ready for a huge car show in Bridgview). Been spraying almost every bolt I'll be removing for a few months on and off with penetrating oil. 3.5" RE Super-Ride full leafs, mono tube shocks, Adj. TB, RE steering stabilizer, 32x11.5x15 tires with 4.5" BS. Living in NW IL I'm well into the rust belt and expect to be fighting to the death with the installation. It'll be done at home: no lifts, a 2 ton floor jack, and like 6 jack stands, plenty of tools but no torque wrenches, we have a big air compressor but only an impact gun. Any tips on installing the RE's lift, I haven't found many in the search that help. Any tips for stuck bolts? Are there any alternatives for leaf spring bolts if they break besides OEM? Any help is appreciated thanks!
Sorry everyone. This question has likely been asked over and over again, but I am not even going to attempt to weed through the 25,000 items in this sticky thread to find what I am looking for.
Trying to stay within my budget on my son's XJ project. We are planning a 3-inch lift and he wants new wheels. The cool wheels he is looking at and the just STOOOPID asking prices for used wheels has got us thinking about taking his stock steel wheels and have them blasted and powder coated to save some clams.
If we were to do a 3-inch lift and stay with the stock rims, could we easily do 31" tires (plus or minus) without any bump-stop/travel issues? I am not good with wheel/tire dimensions and such to know what backspace/offset means what when it comes to this stuff.
Any suggestions/guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!!

If you have rust, I would buy new shackles of the lift doesn't come with them before you even start. It will be insurance in case the old ones come off in pieces. If you don't need them, return them. Also, pick up some shackle bolts because at least one will break. Leaf spring and shackle bolts are all M14x2x120mm flange bolts IIRC but double check that. You can also just get them from the dealer. I would pick up 2 or 3 just in case. I doubt you will break all of them, but ya never know I suppose.

Propane will work, it will just take longer MAP gas works well, it is what I used to remove the lower studs for my front sway bar.
