Not if you measure for and install the proper amount of bump stops.

Default new lift raked

hey everyone,
i just had an arb 2.5" light load lift put in and my jeep is raked. will it settle? or do i need to do something to the front to level it out? any help would be great.
also, i'd like to get some 31s on there - think they'll fit? any way i can check for sure? (those are 235/75r15's on there now...)

thanks,

Which springs did you install up front?

hmmm i'm no mechanic — i had a place do it for me. your question makes me assume they're front and back specific (which makes sense). is that something i can crawl under and check? what would i look for?

also, if it helps at all, this is what came with the kit:
2 front coils
2 leaf springs
2 (N35) front shocks
2 (N36) rear shocks
1 transfer case spacer kit
2 front 10MM trim spacers
2 rear main eye bushings
2 shackle bushings
4 spring u bolts with nuts.

When you say ARB leafs, do you mean the OME ones from them. If so, did they leave all the leafs in

Or did they maybe tighten down the leaf spring bolts prior to having it under its own weight again?

Well there's your issue. They're designed to have a leaf removed to get closer to 2.5". Those aren't gonna settle anytime to fast.

This was gonna be my exact next suggestion if he came back and said they did remove the leaf. That's a VERY common mistake people make.

Ok, so I can take a leaf out to get the rear down level with the front?
And, I don't know if you can tell from the pic but, if I remove the leaf, are 31s in my future? Or do I need to raise the front to match the rear?

There's a lot more to consider besides the amount of space between the bottom of your fender and the top of your current tire. The stock backspacing of your wheels will cause 31" tires to rub the control arms and sway bar. You can get a set of aftermarket wheels with 4"-3.75" of backspacing and that would cure it, but then you have to worry about uptravel. This can be solved with proper installation of bumpstops and/or fender trimming, but this does take some effort on your part. You will need to first get your wheel and tire setup and then take your jeep out and find some things to flex on -OR- find access to a forklift to be able flex your jeep's tires as close to touching the fenders without actually touching them... then measure the distance between the current bumpstop and the spring perch.

Generally speaking though, 2.5" of lift will allow you to run a 30x9.5r15 tire without much issue. You still will want to consider running an aftermarket wheel with less backspacing to eliminate rubbing of the LCAs and sway bar.

I ran 31's on stock suspension with fender trimming and aftermarket wheels and, if I'd been properly bumpstopped, I would have never rubbed a single tire. The key is all in how you set it up.

This!! LCOGs that run 35-37's on ~3" lift. It's about bump stopping and how much droop you can create.

Need some advice on a small budget lift. I'm looking at a maximum of a two inch lift. I don't do much if any wheeling. But I do some off-road driving when camping.
