Actually, there is now, but it's ridiculously expensive. Tom Woods is modifying stock shafts to fit 1310 yokes. http://www.4xshaft.com/SYE_detail.asp
On a related note, Frank - I've been checking out SYE's on your site, but it looks like you only have them for NP231s. Do you have them for NP242s somewhere that I'm missing or is it something that just doesn't really sell? Bear in mind, I know I'm going to be limited to the HnT - that doesn't bother me.

Hi Guys,
New to the forum, just got back into a Cherokee after 10+ years.
Starting to mod for Myself and three young sons. We are in MN but I hope to travel out West as much as possible.
Ive done the research on tire sizes etc..
Just curious on you personal exp, what will the extra inch gain me?
My only reluctance is highway stability for the longer drives.
Thanks!

I don't understand the question, are you asking what the difference between 3.5" is and 4.5" is?
An extra inch will gain you an extra inch of clearance. You'll also be able to run larger tires with trimming less. And spend around $500-$1000 more in modifications than you may not need at 3".

I normally don't argue with people that seem to know more about a subject than I do, but unless you step up tire size you do not gain any real ground clearance with just a lift. I will admit that you gain break over clearance, some approach and departure angle, but the limiting factor is the clearance of your diffs and the only way to move them up is levitation or bigger tires

No it's ok you brought it up. Some ppl might have thought it like you did so at least it's clarified. And yes no matter how much you lift if you don't get larger tires than your axles will always be the same distance off the ground.

Yes. I don't have that bookmarked yet...
Okay fine lol. You gain breakover clearance at the frame, but without tires the diff will hang just as much. Happy now? :P
