They are doeshtec shocks. Which are made by Tenneco under a private label. So basically Monroe/rancho aka white body junk with one size fits all valving unlike bilstein , fox, king with application specific valving.

Very different. The Bilsteins are shiny. Also, one is a cheap throwaway shock sold by mounting style and length. The other is engineered specifically for your vehicle.
Unless you had the wrong Bilsteins on your ride, I don't know how you could not tell a difference

Maybe shocks aren't limiting his body roll anymore cause his broken Rusty's trackbar is allowing his Jeep to flap around haphazardly in the wind
