So I got a 4.5 Rough Country kit on a 91 XJ. Installed a new steering stabilizer but it is a stock replacement one, installed a used set of 31x1150x15 on 03 Wrangler wheels. Need to get a new track bar for the front and need to rebalance the tires due to them being used. Heres the question, I had death wobble before the lift, thaught it was stabilizer related since the old one was really weak, I still have death wobble. All front end components look and feel tight. what do I need to look for or replace. When its not wobbling it tracks straight down the road. Thabks for the help.

I ended up eliminating the vibes. The one control arm was about 1/8" longer center to center than the other. I used shims behind the one to make up for that difference...Vibes gone. even with 5" lift in the rear I have no weird vibes so I never went with a SYE just a longer yolk.

Default Death wobble

Hey I just got rid of the DW in my cherokee...Only way I did it was to replace every stock component in the front end basically. It ended up being control arms that were ovaled in the bushing and it really through the angles out of whack and my axle could push front to back. I bought a new track bar, sway bar links, sway bar bushings, all wheels balanced, front end aligned, new RC 4.5" lift lower Control arms, and I had to adjust the shims behind the control arms a little... if you lifted your jeep and left the old weak and crappy stock components you will be bashing your head like I was. What I learned: lift it right from the get-go. even with only 3-5" lift

Also everything on my front end LOOKED tight (made it past two front end shops) but in reality stuff had tons of play. If tires are unbalanced even slightly and something is loose even a little it can cause the dw. Jeeps are picky

Default wj 2003 grand cherokee lift

Hey first off I have to say there seems to be alot of great information on here for a newbie like me.

Here it is..I have just recently purchased a 2003 grand cherokee limited with the 4.7. I would like to install a 2" or 2.5" lift. Anyone here know how the Rusty's 2.5" kit is and how it rides? otherwise i was looking at Skyjacker, Rough Country etc. I also hve 17" wheels with 235/70's on it currently, so my other question is about is the tire size for this kit without any trimming? maybe a 265/65/70?? Oh and what about Nitto terra grapplers vs. Grabber AT2's?? Thanks a million!!

I have a 00 xj sport. I have some questions..
I have been doing things in step..due to the fact that im a poor grad student and dont have tons of money..but as of now I have a 2 inch spacer/shackle lift from skyjacker. and i recently replaced my oem rear leaf springs with emu 2 inch lift leaf springs. and I am planning on getting emu front coil springs to bring the front end up to the same height as the rear. My question is ..do i need anything else in order to run this set up safely...ie long arms or lower flex arms or with this setup be ok without?

thanks for any ideas insight

Just an idea for when I have to get another set of tires in a couple years..

I have a 3 inch lift and I plan to do some fender trimming and possibly buy a set of bushwacker flares. I want to get new rims with some backspacing.
Will I be able to clear a set or 32s or 33s?
I have 31s on my XJ right now

Ok there is alot of stuff here that is very usefull, I do need some help because I want to upgrade my lift on my 97 Sport XJ from a 4"Rough Country w/29" (I got the Jeep with this), to a 6" Teraflex Long Arm kit w/33". http://www.quadratec.com/products/76190_804.htm I know I have to get a Short Shaft Kit, http://www.quadratec.com/products/52237_900_07.htm (This is the one I was thinking) and will the Long Arms affect the handling on the highway. But I'm mostly worryed about having DW. Also, do I have to do anything with the Gears for any loss in power? and will I need to upgrade my driveline? I'm sorry if this has already been a topic. Thanks

Default 2005 Grand Cherokee lift and tire question

I found a website that seems to be pretty good for a lift (www.rocky-road.com) anyway my question is about tire size. What is the biggest tire that I can fit on my truck? at the same time I would like to keep some comfort to the ride because it is a daily driver. I want the truck to have more of a presence than just the stock look thats why I want to lift it

Thanks for any help
