Go with Old Man Emu for that size lift. Awesome quality and real lift was about 3 inches or so when I got mine done.

All you need to replace when you go to long arms will be brake lines and maybe shocks to get the most travel possible out of your suspension. If you don't want to get bigger tires, is stay under 2.5 inches of lift, but having a lift doesn't do anything for performance. Bigger tires are what make a rig more capable. Lift just makes it easier to fit them and adds a little travel. Upgraded steering is a must with any lift or bigger than stock tires in my opinion. It's kinda important.
Thanks a bunch!!! I'm running 33's I believe. But I'm gonna check out those kits. Also, say I get just the 6030 kit that comes with no shocks. Can I use what I have atleast temporarily until I can pick them up?

I was thinking maybe 3.5 but I'm a noob so second opinions are welcome
Look at mastercraft courser mxt. Good price for a good tire. I have the 32's and the ride well and have minimal road noise for a MT

I'm looking into these as well. Seem like a decent design and good for minor wheeling. Haven't seen rock crawling reviews yet

I already know I'm looking at the 235/85/16 version 10 ply iirc. Never any reAl life reviews about an xj using them really. And I've seen the same quotes locally too. Damn duratracs, my first choice, were several hundred more quoted

Exact reason i went with them. I also wanted the duratracs but couldnt afford the extra 100 a tire

You can check their website and they show and bunch of distributors. Even small tire shops can get them sometimes

ide like to keep it around 2", im trying to keep the drivetrain as stock as possible....

ide like to not have to install aftermarket controll arms, SYEs, or trackbars...

it seems that around 3" those become strongly recommended.

im thinking i might just buy another set of OEM springs and just add a leaf to them...thinking that might be the cheapest and easiest solution.

You can do it for around 150. 2in front lift coils and rear lift shackles.. thats what i would do anyways. Or if you want new rear springs just get oem ones and the lift shackles.

I hear you, I wasn't counting on that much height either, but haven't run into any issues at all (OME kit came with a transfer case drop). I have been running it this way for about a year now, so would have thought I'd have run into any problems if I was going to. Here is a pic of the Jeep with the lift. I need bigger tires...
