Iron Rock makes great short arms. Consider adding control arm drop brackets to considerably improve performance and ride.

I used the slip plate when I did mine. As far as i can tell it works well. I also used full length liners in mine though, and the effects of that i'm sure make a bigger difference than the paint. I would not use grease though - it collects dirt.
My rear flexes awesome with the liners

$100 for 100 feet shipped from Deaver Spring. Used ~20 feet of it, sold the rest in 25ft rolls. Cost me $25 in the end
I picked up a 98 a few weeks ago that currently is on 3in block's in the rear and 2in spacers in the front, I want to get rid of that set up as block's just scare me.
Question I had is currently it has no vibrations and no sye, technically speaking if I swap the block's for 3in leaf springs and the font for coils I still shouldn't need a sye right? I wouldn't be changing the lift just the way it its achieved?

i am wanting to put a 4.5 inch lift on a 99 xj with 32s. i was planning on buyin the most basic rough country kit in order to keep the cost down. however as i look around and research it looks like i might save money and time buying a more expensive kit. what would you guys advise on kits (rc or even another brand or even pieces from different sources) and why(superior/inferior parts unneeded/things that should have been included)?
i seem to be seeing lots of issues with post 97 cherokees and vibrations without running sye where as the pre 97 ones are more tolerant and only require the 1 inch tcase drop, what changed to cause this? i haven't been able to find the reason for it.
im not trying to build a beast, this has to be a daily driver (for now) that i would like to have the option of doing some occasional trail riding so everything needs to be built with tolerable road manners in mind, i can handle a stiff ride as these tend to get broken in after a few trail rides, what i need to avoid is any death wobble or vibrations that come with not lifting a vehicle right. i understand it will not drive like stock and thats fine. if i wanted it to ride like stock it would stay stock
sorry for lenght of post and the questions youve all heard before. i have been thru a couple hundred pages of this thread and cant find all the details that id like to know before i start buying stuff

i have a bone stock 99 xj, and im pretty sure the rear leaves are worn out and the front could could probably be replaced too. (any ways to test?)
i will be doing mild off roading and it is also my daily driver
i dont need a bunch of lift, i just want to bring it up a bit
should i just stick to a 2" budget boost (spacers and shackles) or should i just go with a full 3" kit with new coils and leaves?
im also concerned if i get a 3" will i need to install a SYE, do i need a transfer case drop, and what will it do to the driveline due to the angles
any input would be awesome! =)

If you 'need' a TC drop, you actually need a SYE. Each Jeep is different, and you won't know for sure until you lift it. That said, a SYE is still an upgrade even if it isn't required.
I'm brand new to the forum, so I really hope I'm putting this post in the right thread, but I just have a quick question. I have a '96 XJ and want to lift it. It's going to be a toy of mine for long, long time but for right now it's my daily driver. I want to put a 3" lift on it with 31" tires, but it seems like everyone that goes with the 3" lift immediately regrets it and wishes they would've opted for the 4.5" lift. Thoughts? I figured I would give it a little lift right now while it's my DD and then maybe 5 years down the line lift it again when it becomes my toy. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated!
