HELP PLEASE!! Hey guys I am just in the middle of putting on my RC 4.5 inch lift on and I thought about the tires. I hear a lot of guys run 33 12.5s but what is the best for backspacing. I really dont want to do any trimming if I dont have to and need to know what is best for an 8 inch rim backspacing. Thank you

also could I used a stock steering stabilizer on 4.5 inch lift?

31x10.5 on 3.75" backspacing if you don't want to rub or trim. Its going to look really funny though. Same backspacing on 33x12.5 and you should trim or you won't be using the full potential of your lift.

Also a properly set up steering doesn't need a damper, but if you do want one then yes you should replace it at that height.

Looking at lifts, and I am stuck between a few. Without having much experience, knowledge, or money, which one would be best for me?

I have a 1999 XJ, do some minor offroading when I have time, tow a boat during the summers, and plan to do more offroading over the next year.

Any and all advice is welcomed. PMs also welcomed for more direct conversations.

Go with the ZONE out of those RC is CRAP, Rustys well lets not get me started on the lift I had from him that failed after a week , or tierod that failed.

Trailmaster well I would choose RC over that but I would never run RC !


RE, BDS, OME, RockKrawler, FST, Serious Offroad, Clayton, TNT, Currie all make great lifts

I was thinking about adding a leaf 3 inch lift but wasnt sure on what to get Im not looking to spend much money wise and was thinking about either rustys or rough country ive seen people say on here that RC sags after a while but it seems easy to install yourself so I was wondering if anyone knows if rustys is all bolt on as well, as im not much of a mechanic. (end of very long sentence)

The ease of install factor doesnt change between the companies. An AAL installs the same as any other AAL. Full leaf packs are your best bet. Between those two AAL choices I would choose Rustys though.

Alright thanks, I would go for full leaf but I dont have much money, Im only running a budget boost right now im just looking for some more lift thats not going to kill my bank account but I figure Ill ride this one out then go full leaf down the road

I'd say a good measure is if you have to ask about long arms than you aren't ready for them yet

Short arm junkyard lift, just look around on the forums, I have 5" for $200. Read what Rocky road .com says about long arms.

Got a link? Site goes nowhere for me. I have Rusty's long arms in my garage waiting to go on, but have considered switching to short arms for when I do my lift, for simplicity's sake.
