Everyone whom runs RC then switches to another quality lift they will change their thoughts on the previous lift they ran . I am local to tuff country's outfit and no one here runs their junk. It was on my Xj for a few months cause the po thought it was top of the line lmao. I replaced it with RE and Bilstein. Now the Ride and performance is much much better.

Both are garbage bottom feeder kits for people who don't know better.
Everyone whom runs RC then switches to another quality lift they will change their thoughts on the previous lift they ran . I am local to tuff country's outfit and no one here runs their junk. It was on my Xj for a few months cause the po thought it was top of the line lmao. I replaced it with RE and Bilstein. Now the Ride and performance is much much better.

So I've opted to order the full long arm kit from Iron Rock Off Road. Several people I know run the kit and it has stood up to the abuse. My question is should I really save up extra to dish out on the bilstein shocks or can the hydro shocks that come with the kit at no extra charge do the job? I heard that they have very stiff ride quality, but since this vehicle is NOT my daily driver and is only used for weekend trailing, I could care less about ride quality...I just want to know if these hydro shocks can get the job done sufficiently...

Mine is fine. I replaced the leaf bushings with urethanes. I have shackle relocation boxes and longer shackles. The leaves sit almost flat now and are nice, I have a lot of weight in the back. When they were new, the shackle angle was bull**** and the leaves were short because of the ridiculous arch, but the added weight of a tire carrier bumper and sliders and tools and a winch in the back settled the rear down and it rides real nice now. FWIW the shackles are now farther back than their factory location to set the angle properly and the leaves turned out to be longer than the factory leaves. Honestly there is about 200lbs too much weight on the rear leaves right now, I will be going with alcan custom leaves to deal with the weight unless I can find some heavier duty leaves for cheap ($300 or less) to try out. The alcans will be about $600.
I have no complaints about the front, but I don't have their xflex arms with their "johnny joints", just the fixed arms with the factory style bushings with the metal, these bushings have been fine. The shocks are nitro and work good, I kind of wish the bodies were a little longer as it appears they were made for more uptravel than down travel with this height of lift.
I never ran their track bar, I have an RK trackbar and RK steering. It was $600 for the 4.5in rc lift itself with the full packs, but then I added the RK trackbar, shackles, relocation boxes and crown ss extended brake lines (none of these things are necessary with their 4.5in, but I felt it was a better way to do things). The shackle boxes and shackles I only bought to give me more lift when the springs started sagging due to the ridiculous amount of weight I carry. With just sliders and a box of tools in the back the stock shackle angle was good. With no sliders and no tools, the shackle angle was ****.
After buying the RC kit, I wouldn't buy another kit (any brand) because I would rather piece it together anyway with custom components to get what I want now that I know what is needed and what I like. Is the RC kit a good kit with value for people to get into wheeling and learn what the want/need from a suspension system without spending a boatload of money on **** they'll replace anyway when they want/need more? Yeah. Does RC have badass customer service? Yeah. With that said, if you want to be a cheap *** and are looking for a kit, I'd probably investigate zone before RC if it comes with nitro shocks. When I got the RC, zone didn't come with full leaf packs or have that option, just aal, which is why I chose RC even after reading all the poor reviews on it (there were no reviews on zone, good or bad). It actually worked out great for me and was a nice learning experience. I guess I'm not butthurt like a lot of guys on here about RC, I went in expecting to replace the leaf bushings and expecting the leaves to be short, both of which I fixed rather easily.

Hydro ( oil shocks) suck the oil will foam when it gets used alot and hot then it stops absorbing . nitro (gas ) shocks are much better and do not so this not to mention you get what you pay for. I only run bilsteins on my rigs. But I like a good shock that is specifically valved for the application instead on a generic valving on a painted bodied shock .

What does ride quality have to do with wheeling a rig. How about you learn to research products you buy for your Xj and budget your money so you can afford nice things.

I stuck to the thread I asked a question about what ride quality has to do about wheeling it is suspension related. I'm goin to start linking people over to pirate 4x4 so they can research RC lifts there since get get upset when I am nice about stating RC is junk.

Everyone huh? Besides, any out of the box kit is only so good until you start modifying even more. For example: bumpstop and shock relocation brackets. Both change how your suspension travels and any shock for X amount of lift won't fit properly.
