Skyjacker suspensions website states that using their 3 inch lift, use a 8 inch rim with a maximum of 3.75 inch backspace. There are a lot of wheels out there that are 8 inch wide with 3.625 or 3.75 backspace. Either should work.

You will have a wider selection of tires and how stiff the ride is will be determined by load rage and how many ply the side walls are as well as if it a bias ply or not.[/QUOTE
Thanks for the info. It's a great help.

now for my next question, are there any companies out there other than ome that make a +2" leaf pack? my packs are completely shot, so an aal isn't really a good option for me. i guess i could just buy new packs and then do aals, but it would be so much easier if i could find full packs.

thanks, thats what i was looking for. i'm planning on only a 2" lift with lots of trimming and bumpstop work.

I'm not going for a 3" lift though. i'm only going for a 2". i spoke to someone at zone and was told they wont be making a 2" pack only 3" and up. other than OME i havn't found a 2" pack only 3" and up.

Quadratec sells oem leafs. Look for the "upcountry" leafs which are a 1" taller pack. Combine that with a 1" shackle and you should be good!
The other option would be to do a "bastard pack" which incorporates individual leaves from other leaf packs into your own to get more lift. These are also extremely customizable so you can mess around with em to get the desired lift height and spring rate.
Hmmm the hard part about buying a two inch lift is that they underrate their springs, so you actually get more lift than advertised, with the intent of it settling down to the desired height.

after doing a little searching on this though i've come up to about $1600 to do the lift, wheels and tires. my wife will be needing some convincing.

Thats what i figured. good to know about the upcountry thing though. that might be the way i go and then just do spacers and bumpstops in the front. looks like i'm gonna be peicing this together then. either that or just get the 2" lift from zone and then either buy new packs or add shackles as needed.

Didn't even think of craigslist for the lift. i did think about it for wheels and tires though. one of my problems though, is i'm gonna need tires in a few months. i'm gonna hold off as long as possible, but i dont want to spend the money on tires that will fit the way it is now and then a few months after that lift it and have it look bad. i have considered trying to get 31's to fit on it now though. it has 29's and they fit fine. i cant imagine 2" would cause major issues if a little trimming was involved.

I know there is a lot of people on here running Rubicon Express lifts. I had a question about the 5.5" front coil springs. I bought a set of them along with the 4.5" leaf packs and 1" shackles.
Do I need to install any kind of coil spacers on the front, like maybe 3/4" to level up the jeep when I install them?
I also have bumper I made that will be going on the front adding a little weight so I was thinking maybe a 1" coil spacer to compensate for everything?
Just need some opinions/advice.

I have a similar RE kit, the 4.5 Superflex. After waiting 6 months for the rear to settle that never happened and ended up adding 3/4" spacers in the front. However you might have different results. Best to just wait and see how it turns out. Not that difficult to add them later.
