Is this all I need for to run 4 lights ?
Looking to add some lights to my XJ and was probably going to pick up 4 6" KC Apollo's and was wondering if I need anything else to wire these.
This is my cart:
Thanks

yup, you need relay, switch, wiring, and the lights.
one suggestion-- I highly recommend going w/ LEDS, if you can afford.
I went from 250watt kc's to a smallish set of LEDS, and was blown away by how much better they are-- brighter, no fading on the sides, more durable, and use less wattage for the same amount of power -- superior in every way. Of course... there's the extra $$.

Eh, wait.
I see ONE wiring harness that says it's for TWO lights, but I see FOUR lights.
Since you posted a screenshot instead of a link, I can't easily check the harness specs, but since they say it's for two lights, I suspect it's not adequate for four lights.
By the way, if you must post screenshots, please shrink them down a bit so they don't force readers to scroll sideways to see the whole thing. Keep that up and someone, someday, is going to track you down and beat you with an overipe zuchinni.

If you run them top side and where there are a lot of trees on the trails they get broken a lot. I know first hand as I do and at times where there are no trails have to make my own so even my bumper mounted lights take a beating at times also.
LED's weren't a cheap option for me as the cost to replace them very often was way to high so I went with Hella 7" Black Magic's 3 sets 2 on bumper and 1 up top shining a bit to the sides. Also have 2 mounted in the rear for backup/work lights.
You will need relays and switches for each set of lights. When I did a search looking for mine I found Summit Racing to be the cheapest that week and many others price matching each other with free shipping. I do that with most all the items I buy find the cheapest then go to where you want to buy from and any of them will price match like Jegs, Quadratec, 4WD Parts, Morris take your pick.

It depends on the output rating of the light. All LED's are not created equal.
It depends on the amp rating of the relay.

The logic is simple. (5) lights X 55W is 275w. Divide by 12V nominal (obviously give or take since many jeeps run 13.6v) and you have 22A. Now the relay is probably rated for 30A but what about you wiring. 12G THHN is rated for 20A at 75*C ambient temperature. Factor the higher engine bay temps you are looking at potentially burning the wire and/or connections up. The switch doesn't matter as no amperage flows through the switch.

Exactly. I calculated it out and knew I'd be drawing less current than the relay is rated for so I knew it would be okay. I ran an 8awg wire for them, which is probably overkill but that's okay with me. I've just had many people tell me you can't run more than 2 lights off one relay.

it'll probably never rear its head, but wouldn't you rather over-engineer than build something so close to tolerances?
