adding cruise control, to a 5 speed.
i have a 99. i think ive got all the technical information. i need the 99-01 clockspring. and the buttons that go on the wheel. the vaccume actuator.
but ive seen nothing mentioning weather this will work or not on a 5 sp. i think ive seen some before that had cruise. but im not sure.
is it possible?

ive considered that, but i do a lot of highway driving and smashing my foot down to the floor for hours sucks.
also if it could mod it to be an idle upper for trail riding thatd be great. but i think thats outta the question.

An indexed bicycle shifter on the gear selector has worked for many
Would look like this but with a shifter instead of a brake lever
With the brake lever there's an adjuster to take up slack which could be used to give it a high idle.

Youll need the vacuum bulb too if you want cruise control. If u have the stock front bumper its a black plastic ball mounted on the inside of the front bumper passenger side.

i hear y'all, its my fallback. tried and true no doubt. but i have a pretty good background electrically. i already have a decent idea. using a high torque servo attached to a cable. controlled by an adjustable dimmer switch.
should be pretty nice. have a switch to activate it. and can adjust to any rpm i want from a **** on the dash.

My write up for ya on a "non fashionable" cruise control/ high idle trigger.
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/cu...rigger-116149/
works very well.. there are mornings when i use the trigger alone on the way to work
