well the ifs your thinking out is different than the one im thinking of. the stuff gm uses on the civilian side sucks. but the hummve? come on, could you ask for a more capable vehicle right off the factory line? and also the 4.0 will be eventually swapped for a 6.2 diesel. maybe with the 6.5 td head and turbo if there is room.....
and if you need any info on the 6.2 swap get with me... i bought everything to do it with my other jeep... had a 6.2turbod/727/241 with drivers side drop and everything ready to go... then decided not to go big and buy another one and keep it simple bolt ons... well that didnt work... now its on tons and 40's... but i know everything there is to know about swapping a 6.2in... and not but a couple have done it...
No. If you did your lift correct the 1st time you wouldn't need the spacers. Your springs would all match in height. If you planned on getting a winch bumper and/or whatever accesories, you'd put them on first THEN take the measurements to see what you need and put them on one time.

You must also be one of those people who know exactly how much added weight will sag a front end.
I commend you on your gift.

SO what you are saying is that if your winch and bumper sag your front end you did your lift wrong - or you should have bought your winch/bumper/everything else BEFORE you did your lift?

^^ that AND you could say "well... all this extra weight on my jeep now makes it sit unlever.... looks like 2 more inches will make it sit level... ill buy 6.5in springs now... swap them for my 4.5in springs... my jeep will sit level with no spacers or honda accord coilovers and i can sell my 4.5in springs for the same price as a good used set of 6.5in springs... then my jeep will be done right!"

y does it matter that much not everyone on here is an expert at putting lifts in and the adjustable spacers is a good idea instead of spending money on spacers incase u want to go higher u can just twist the adj spacer and be done and not waste anymore money and most people do their lifts wrong anyways and get sag after a few days

Update:
The sleeves don't fit. I don't know if the ones I got are a little smaller than some others out there or if the bumpstop tubes on a 97+ are a larger diameter than on older XJs (I have no way to test either theory currently) but they are simply too small.
I used a cylinder hone to try and open them up as well as sanded the paint and some metal off my tubes but in the end I was never able to get them on more than an inch.
The sleeves I bought were 2.5" ID and my tubes are 2.6ish" OD. I know that doesn't sound like much difference but it is roughly 3-4mm different and that is a good bit to overcome.
I'd love to see some other measurements however.
EDIT: YES I ground off some of the bumpstop seat flare. That isn't where it is coming to a stop.
