Trick, one of the best moves you can make is have the piston measured how far down in the cylinder the piston rests at top dead center. Use this measurement to figure out how much of the deck surface can be removed to maximize your compression ratio. Compression=power. As for the valves, have the head reconditioned. That should include a valve job, new valve seals, and have the head milled to insure it is flat. IMHO.

My bad.... I guess I just assumed him saying "comp kit" was meaning that comp=complete. I now realize he was referring to comp cams.Originally Posted by cruiser54

That's why using capital letters and punctuation makes it easier to understand things I guess. I see what you mean.Originally Posted by Tyler25

I ended up just buying an engine that was used but rebuilt 40k ago. I couldnt pass it up. 300$. All the machine work and parts I wanted was gona be over 1200$ so im gona run the one I bought and slowly build the one thats in it.

Picked up a header for it, gona do some slight porting just to clean things up and make flow a lil better. Im throwing in a set of main and rod bearings in it tonight and putting it together. Just for my peace of mind. Im running a TB spacer and with the header, spacer, fresher engine and 4.10s on 31s should do preaty good.
