Default 8.25 regear pattern

In the process of regearing my 8.25 rear axle. Got the set up bearings installed on the pinion right now to determine pinion depth, just using the stock shim for now. Anyways got the backlash set at .006 and this is the pattern I got.

The drive side looks pretty centered, I was wondering if it is a little too high on the tooth?

Coast side is a little toward the heel

Just for curiosity, I threw in a .005 thicker pinion shim to see what would happen, here's the result.

Backlash was .007 this time.

That's what I was thinking, getting pretty good at taking the carrier in and out of the axle by now

Just curious, did you replace the spiders, if so, did you notice if the new gears fit really snug on the cross pin, or was there still a bit of lash?
