Thanks. It's all making sense now. WTH is an 8.25 doing in my '91 XJ? I should have known when the pinion nut size was 1 1/4 instead of 1 1/8 that everyone was saying was on the D35.

So when ordering a replacement pinion yoke, I need to be sure about the # of splines correct? This is what I ordered:

Yeah that's fine. The 27-spline is referring to the axle shafts, not pinion.
