8.25 Rearend?
Saw on here somewhere before that the Jeep Liberty has a 8.25 rearend. is this true? And would it be wide enough to put under my 91 XJ? I want disc brake rear and wondered if this is a good option.

I don't believe they fit and yea they are 8.25 but before messing with that I would put in a ford 9" same bolt patterns so u dont need to swap wheels the only thing you might need to do is move and weld on new perches and change to whatever gear you want to run

Get an 8.25 out of an XJ and bolt Liberty discs on to it. Easy. Just did one. You'll need the lugstuds from the Liberty and the caliper mounting studs. Put a nut on them and bang 'em out with a hammer at the JY.

It would be a lot easier with an 8.25 out of an xj. It literally bolts in, almost. I swapped one into mine recently at the same time as lifting it, I needed a shorter driveshaft. At the same time I did the ZJ disc conversion and installed the WJ booster m/c combo. Cheaply done with JY parts and there is plenty of info on this site to help with the process.
