Okay folks, I have the back plates installed along with new e-brake shoes and hardware.

My question is. Before I install the axles, do I need to change the wheel studs to longer ones? I have read somewhere (have read a lot) that they needed to be changed out with front wheel studs but, I wanted to make sure that this is something I need to do and that the fronts are the correct ones to use. Thanks..

The studs off the rear of a ZJ with disc's & the front of ZJ's,MJ's & XJ's are the same lenght. If you pull them from a JY the fronts are alot easier to remove.

I had to use the die grinder to make the zj studs fit in just a little bit of grinding and it was much easier without the grinding i snapped one brand new stud...

This might be something that a lot of people already know. I got on Autozones web site and looked at the different lengths of wheel studs. The stock XJ studs measure 1.4687", fronts measure 1.625" and the TJ wheel studs (front) measure 1.9375". Just a FYI if anyone interested. I am going with the TJ since I have the MT Sidebiter wheels..

Prices for the XJ studs, both front and rear (stock) are $1.99 each.
The TJ studs are $3.99 each..
