This belongs in "Modified Tech" since the 6.0 is not stock. Popular swap. I already have a small block in mine.

How would the unibody frame hold up?

Just fine. This is lighter than the stock 4.0 and they plate the frame on those.

Plating, 1/8" minimum but 3/16 if I was going that route again.

go ls series. im doing a 5.3 soon(maybe a 6.0 if i can find a good deal) i did a lot of looking into building up the 4.0 but the ls engines have so much more to offer in stock form alone, and only up to go from there. if figuring roughly 5 grand for my swap, im sure ill end up getting nickle and dimed to death and go over my budget a bit but i expect it at least.

tons of good info here:

Yea I'm currently doing the 5.3 swap. Wouldn't recommend unless you have disposable income. It's not cheap and the little **** will kill you...

I'll be running a hopped up th400 since it's offroad only (no 4th gear). are you planning to street drive the rig? that kind of info would be helpful. it's an atlas for me I wasn't a fan of any of the other tcase options in driver drop application. But I'm already looking at $3500 before I even get my hands on an engine. for a street driver / weekend warrior I'd be looking at a stroked 4.0
