Been driving my XJ for a week always getting compliments... Very nice! Loving the 4.0 what a beast.
So I'm interested in a small lift for overland driving in Michigan snow & trails to hunt etc. no Rock climbing. She is my daily driver. Wanted to save cash and use the same rims but jump up to 30X9.515. So I was leaning towards the Rubicon budget lift. What say you??? I spend most of my $ on ammo & survival tools support the constitution buy a firearm. So need a daily driving comfy affordable lift. Also she has 99k miles what oil and filter you guys recommend. And yes I did research oil but only finding posts from 4 years ago.... Please advise or tell me to **** off and hit the search button. LOL.
I don't believe you'll be happy with an add-a-leaf for very long if you're going to carry any sort of weight for your overland excursions, they simply won't last very long.
Although more expensive, a lift with full leaf packs would be the wisest choice.
Maybe wanna check out Rustys for a small lift. Their 3" lift comes in right around $500. It has shocks, springs, and a full leaf pack. Plus it's made in America. Very good customer service too.

Good point I've over looked that logical point. Full leafs I'm on it.

Good luck with your choices.
I put Mobil 1 in all my vehicles.
Ok thanks for the response. I'll check out Rustys.
I've the Rustys for almost 4 yrs now VG quality and about the only one made in NA not China. The full leaf/coil/shock/hardware pkg runs $438 with about all lifts you will need an adj. track bar also and some sway bar disconnects for the extra flex needed off road or extensions..
Buy quality the first time and then you only have to do it once, the major item in any lift kit is the leaf and coils that's where you need a good product. I use my XJ much the same way but little on road use.

I have adjustable lower control arms but no track bar currently. The lower control arms may be something to consider as well.
I plan on a track bar a bit down the road when the front gets bumped up an inch or so. But so far, I haven't had any bumpsteer issues with just 3" of lift
