Default 3 Link w/ Sway or no Sway....

Hey fellas, trying to get some input from anyone who has experience or has heard first hand from buddies if a Sway Bar is recommended while running a 3 Link. My rig sees ALOT of surface streets as well as highway. I read in some threads that running the front sway bar isn't necessarily required but is a good saftey measure for somewhat of a more stable ride quality.

I'm in the process of putting together my complete lists of parts I will need to get my build started and completed. I'm going with a complete Froehlich set-up including the cross over steering and OTA track bar all of which will require to remove some OEM brackets to replace with new lift related brackets.

In order to utilize my sway bar, I will have to relocate the sway bar link brackets and I've found some through JCR which require a bit more welding than some Teraflex brackets I also found. Since I'll be welding on the FRT axle I thinking I should might aswell pickup up on of these kits, unless someone has a better idea or simply no run my sway bar.

Any input would be appreciated..thanks.

didn't have any on my midarm 3 link with 4.5" of lift, handled fine. I generally ran high quality shocks though.

It handled better at that height and was more predictable than a 100% stock xj minus swaybars.

Agreed. As long as your suspension is properly set up and tuned you wont need one.

Thanks for ordering with us by the way!

Thanks for your guys' input!

I've been contemplating not running my sway bar mainly because I don't want to make the investment on new discos and the relocation brackets if I really don't need it.

I did invest in some 5100 series Bilsteins in hopes of getting a bit better on-road experience.

So could I disconnect my sway bar now on a 2" boost and get first hand experience on how it will behave once I do get my 5.5" 3 Link installed?

Likewise Kris, I'm happy to do business with you and am pretty damn excited to get everything installed. Thanks for answering all my questions also!

Yea man, that will at least give you an idea. The spring rates on your new coils will make the ride a little different.
