Default 3 inch lift and front drive shaft length

My front drive shaft turded out and am replacing it. I have a 2001 Cherokee 4WD Sport and the OEM part no. is 53005542AC. Just installed a 3 inch lift. Should I get a longer drive shaft, drop the TC or just order the OEM sized assembly and snap it in? Its generally a DD. Rarely seeing off-road time. I took the shaft to a drive specialist. Said it would cost $420 to repair due to the yoke being wiggly and the grease fitting was missing. Said the yoke would need to be cut off and replaced with a new one. The UJoints were going too. Thanks!!!

OEM should do it. The axle moves back as it drops down so the drive shaft doesn't need to be longer at full droop

Ummmm, no.

I have a three inch lift, had the OEM propeller shaft (MOPAR's term). All was fine. Hell, I installed a custom front shaft for $325 total.

You can search for the yoke. None of the work is tough at all. Drive shaft is 8 bolts. Yoke should be easy. That is if all is not rusted to the hilt.

Hit your local pull-a-part. Should all be under $100 to fix it all with *plenty* of change to spare.

Be advised that dropping the t-case will accelerate the death of your engine mounts.
