Default 3 inch lift front coil spacers

I have a friend who installed 31 x 10.50 tires after installing a rear spring bastard pack that lifted his 91 XJ Laredo approx. 3 inches in the rear.

He want to lift the front end approx the same height. Until he can find some front springs he wants to install on his stock front springs a pair of Fat Bob's 3" Front Lift Kit Coil Spring Spacers for Jeep Cherokee XJ 84-01 Budget Boost

P/N 60300.

Will these coil spring spacers work to lift up the front approx. . ~3 inches using his OEM front coil springs?

It will probably get him pretty close depending on how badly worn his stock springs are

As long as you keep the same springs a 3" spacer will lift it 3" regardless of how worn out the springs are.

Your right it will definitely lift it 3" but will it be 3" over stock or just just 2" over stock because of worn springs that are sagging from 20 years of use

Yeah, that's what I told him, since the springs are worn they won't function as well as newer or stiffer springs.

He wants to get the auto back together for his landlord, who must have complained? but I told him he would be better off with newer springs or Grand Cherokee springs with appropriate siized spacers.

The JY has a set of Grand Cherokee front springs for $40.00 which from my research as suppose to be heavier duty (higher load and spring rating) and a little taller than stock OEM XJ springs. So if I were him I would measure the Grand Cherokee springs to determine the size of spacer to bring the front up to approx. the height of the rear.

Another factor is if he gets some used after market off-road trail front and rear bumpers which would add more weight. to both the front and rear of the XJ. needs to be taken in consideration.

I do have some front springs from a 98 XJ with approx. 130,000 miles, but they are not new and would likely sag from age and use. I told him his best bet would be to purchase newer taller springs with both higher load and spring compression ratings. Because shorter weaker oem springs aren't really designed so much for off-road use, with a lift, and likely create a choppy ride especially if they were worn out.

The Jeep Grand Cberokee does have some new front coil springs for around $100.00 However I'm uncertain of the height and spring ratings.

I'm uncertain if he would need actual Jeep Springs. The rear bastard pack we made from Junk Yard Leaf pack that had "Ford" Stamped on them They were a little wider, approx. 2.75 inch wide vs 2.5 inches wide but are heavier duty than Jeep Springs. we only used a few leaves from the pack along with the XJ main leaf to bring the rear up to around 3" so the 31 x 10.50 tires would fit.

He's also looking at wheel spacers in case the front wheels need to be extended out to prevent rubbing, etc.

For about the same price and in some cases even cheaper there are 3" lifted springs you can order and not have to use the dumb spacers. Going to probably need new shocks too regardless if you get new springs or use the spacers. If hes going with 31's the wheel spacers or new wheels will be a must your it will rub ushally on the lower controll arms. Chances are you will need to trim finders too, when you flex it it will rub the finder ever so slightly
