I picked up a 8.8 with disc brakes and a LSD with 3.73. I'm going to install it the way it is, see how I like it coming from the 3.07, then determine if 4.10's are necessary. I seem to get around just fine with the stock gears, 31's and the 5 speed. I'm always in low range on the trail so the only time I'm hating the gears is when I pull my boat. I'm hoping the 3.73 will do the trick!

Xj's are undergeared from the factory anyway. I say if you are going to regear, match the factory final drive and fire size, then add .5 revolutions. So if you went to a 31-32, the oem equivalent gear should be 4.10, but 4.56 would be much better. So on a stock tire size, from 3.54 I would go 4.10. Etc.
