231 stickout
Have a 1994 XJ with an AX15 transmission. All AX15's were 23 spline, but the stickout on the 231 transfer cases are different over the years. The one in mine is supposed to be the short (.750) stickout. I have one out of a 1998 XJ that had an AX15 in front of it. It has a medium (.840) stickout. The 98 has the SYE I want to install. I was wondering if I have to tear them both apart to make it fit.

I would mount the case first and see if there is any binding before tearing the case apart. It is only .090 difference in length it might not matter.
