Hi, my XJ is a '00, I need to redo the whole front end (rotted axle, all components etc) but the tub and body is fine besides rocker, it was a Police XJ, only '74k miles. I don't feel swapping out the front end. I have a '98 Grand Cherokee also a 4.0 with 250K miles. Could I swap motors? The '00 was maintained by Police mechanics and has 180k less miles. Will they swap no problem?

Yeah you can swap the long block. You need to change all of the accessories and sensors over to the ZJ stuff, though. A distributor will bolt in where the cam sensor was.
The two engines use different exhaust manifolds, but since the 2000's are smaller holes you should be fine to use the original (or replacement) 1998 manifold.
