1998 Cherokee Issues Again
Hey guys,
A few months ago I posted on here reguarding my 1998 Jeep Cherokee that blew a headgasket, i'm having some NEW extremely annoying issues. A week ago it started making a really weird sound and misfiring until it now nolonger starts. I replaced the distributor, plugs wires, cam position sensor, and temperature sensor while doing the head gasket. It now will not start, it just cranks BUT when i test for spark off the coil its hitting but is not sparking on the posts. Help please,
Alan

pull the distributor cap off. i sounds like the rotor button is broken or missing. I would also check that you have the distributor indexed right on the block. since you have to remove the distributor to change the sensor it is possible the have the distributor off a few teeth where it meshes to the cam.

Alright well I replaced the entire distributor, was under warranty so why not. The metal under the cam position sensor had broken off the bottom of the distributor and was stuck in the sensor, explains why it couldn't run in time. Now I'm having a few more fun issues, it makes this metal on metal sound when i accelerate and when i take it out of gear it starts to miss until it dies. Any ideas?
