I dont see a reason at all to use 2 altenators. One bigger one can easily solve whateer problem u are having. And besides with 2 alts u obv have to wire them in sync with ine another so if nething happens to ine it can very easly short out the second one.

The only reason I see having 2 alternators is to use one as a welder.

Look on Youtube to see what I mean.

youd be better off with taking out ur ac and mounting your single bigger alternator up higher so its less vonerable to watter. then id go with dual batteries after that.

Yes. I've done that in several vehicles and that was one of the easier set ups I made.

Eight? I count six - where are the other two?

And, what were you driving with all that current? No trouble with the regulators fighting each other, or anything like that?

You could just relocate your alternator and get it higher up, where you AC is now. Then upgrade to a higher amperage one.

Or you could turn the AC compressor into onboard air. That'd be more useful than 2 alts IMO.

You can add a 2nd alt and keep the AC.

The other two are down the bottom. You can see one peeking out at the very bottom of the photo. Typically you will see set ups like this in competition vehicles used in CB radio "key down" contests. Very high wattage amplifiers. The alternators are externally regulated and hooked to a custom made adjustable regulator that allows multiple alternator hook ups.
