Default 04 Cherokee Laredo- batt not holding voltage

It started when I was driving I noticed.my check gages light was on, my radio died etxlc, I made it home- and my truck immediately died, figuring it was my altenator- I had it changed, and then bought a brand new battery seeing as the altenator "had killed it" so I thought- and it was fine...
a day or two later..I was driving on the highway - and noticed my battery voltage was down to about 9- usually always at 14, once i got off the exit, my car just died. Dead. I got it started with pushing the petal over and over and then managed.to get it to the house, after that, the battery was again charged at an auto store, and then started up I drove 26 miles, and died again... I am assuming it's a short somewhere.but.hoping someone has had the same.issue as.me..... I charge My battery , put it into drive and it almost.goes immediately down to 6 voltages.... help!

Have you checked your battery cables?

Have you done any wiring lately? Anything to cause a short or a draw?

Nothing! That's what I don't get- I'm thinking it's a draw or loose wire somewhere but who the F knows where! I,just didn't know if anybody had this **** happen and coukd.possibly lead me to a connection Before diving into the abyss of wires randomly..uh.

Is it possible you got a faulty alternator? Have you done a full charging system test?

If you still have the original battery cable ends, check where the wires are molded into the lead. I had one on my WJ that was corroded on the supply wire that goes to the PDC (relay/fuse box). That wire supplies all the current for everything except the starter. Mine would crank fine, but would barely run and the gauges went crazy. I replaced BOTH cable ends and haven't had a problem since.
