Default Aftermarket Altenator?

Any aftermarket high amp altenators that will fit the 88 XJ? I don't have the availability of parts to mod an altenator or brackets.

Go to your rebuilder and have him build one for you I have done this for years with alternators/starters for years just had a 160 amp built for my XJ. Ended up costing me $109 with a 1 yr. warranty.

Search cs130 alternator just make sure its clocked correctly.

It's a Delco CS130 - your options are legion:
- Find an OEM unit (can be had up to 140A) and switch the front case half to get the correct mounting.
- Find a local shop that does rewinds, and get your alternator upwound.
- Find anything in the aftermarket (pillage around) and get anything between, say, 200A (Mean Green) or just over 300A (Rush Power Systems.)

Delco alternators are widely used in performance applications, conversions, kitbuilds, and anything else - if you can't find one, you're not looking.

Again - it's a Delco CS130, so you should find it easily using that information (and the front case halves carry the mounting, and swap freely.)

Make sure you upgrade your mains wiring, and know that the alternator output lead is fused from the factory (it's a 6AWG primary wire with a ~4" segment of 10AWG fusible link wire. If you go to full output with a larger alternator, you will blow the fuse in short order!)

No special tools needed to reclock - do that all the time!
