10.25 inch rear end
Anyone ever put a ford 10.25 inch rear end under an xj or any other rig?
Looking at maybe doin this if I can find all the aftermarket parts like axle shafts, gears, lockers, bearings.

The unibody will need a lot of reinforcement for all that unsprung weight. I am swapping one of those at school on a truck and the axle weighs at least 550 lbs.

Im not worried about breaking it but if I tear it apart to rebuild it before I put it in, will it be like trying to get parts in alaska?

Check out pirate 4x4 man. If you gotta ask about a swap you should do a ton more research before you attempt a swap. What size tires are you looking to run. Should be 38's+. Tons of guys run them, I think xclusivexj runs one and cte has one but idk if it has been installed yet.

What aftermarket stuff you want? There's gears and lockers and disc brake kits. There's tons of them in junk yards. And its not gonna break in a cherokee. Gears down to 7.17 full spool and detroit and arb.

They have all the gears and most lockers you'd want. The only worry is the axle tubes can spin loose from the differential. All that takes is welding the tubes to it, though. I wouldn't run one unless, like stated before, you were gonna run 38's or bigger. Here's my buddies build thread and he's using one. Check it out. I think he's gonna run 42's though
