I would also set up a compressed gun to shoot stakes into the ground from bottom of jeep incase they try to tip me over. Put some run flats and dana 60's under her have 3 optima red tops to power all my lights and electronics. Have a ton of map books. Id build a base camp that is surrounded by 53' trailers with the axels removed and dig moat if you will in front of it with a draw bridge which will eliminate most chances of them getting in. Ive had alot of time to think about this and my main weapon would probly be a .22 cause it will kill the zombie its not loud and youll deffinetly find plenty of ammo and be able to reload easily. Would also carry and assult rifle and have atleast 2 handguns and a knife on me at all times
Lol, I honestly think I wouldn't do anything, depending on what type of zombie, and yes there are 3 types
Resident evil ( humans animals/ fast smart)
28 days/weeks ( humans/animal carriers/ fast a **** / dumb)
Zombie land ( humans/ medium to slow/dumb)
Walking dead ( humans/ slow as f/ dumb)

I personally would live slow ones so I could f them up with banjos, hammers, etc and carry a sig sauer p229 or sp2022 cambered to .40 cal, and call it a good freaking time!

I have recently began thinking about this a lot considering the waking dead was filmed like five miles from me and I have friends in zombieland... This is a topic that I will go into more detail later when not on my phone...

My "International Zombie Hunting Permit" is affixed to my window as we speak. It has a bag limit and possession limit that I'm totally comfortable with.

Default It's not Zombies you need to worry about

It is the living that will get ya......

If you were going to deal with it
Well camouflaged elevated shooting platform, 26 inch precision rifle cans full of ammo. Three sentries with full auto CQR, More cans of ammo. A well trained spotter, side arms for when the rifles fail due to heat, shotguns for up-close more cans of ammo. That would be a good start. Air support would be a plus.

XJ would get us there just like it is!

i think adiing _/_ inch think armor is stupid, i mean yes having a sturdy rig is important, but thats going to rob fule economy and its not like zombies are going to be firing semi autos at you, other people now thats something else, as far as these people saying massive turret on top, thats well and dandy but when you have a 800rpm machine that waights a ton(i belive with proper cooling systems and what not about 1100lbs) is going to make your rig top heavy and supplying that gun is going to kill a lot of space, witch would be better for other more important things.

bull bars, plows, other drivey overy devices, all a semi good idea but if you can you want to get away not plow thru 5,000 zombies, oh yeah not to mention weight vs fule eco.

chopping top, is sensable, but only if you have a well trained person to spot and shot from said turret or sun roof,

down side easy entry for the undead.

massive lights aroun rig, in a city where your going to run into them no matter what yes, open plains or road, no draws attiention, and makes you a tsarget

all this being said, i would completely de-rust and rebuild all fatiuged parts, give my self another 3 to 4 inches of clearnce, with as minimal tire size change as possible(fule eco i would hope) nnice bumper wweinch lights and storage for ammo or guns or fule or food

rear new tire carrier with added storage of all the same as the front, mesh the windows, and add a layer of plex over top remove glass(demo derby style reinforcments)

remove all non ecental parts(rugs, cats mufflers, trim ect, )

then just fill it with people that know ther **** and start a convoy

The bull bar and plow are kinda a "rather have it and not need it, then need it not have it" kind of thing. Plus its not like all the roads are gonna be completely clear, im sure there'll be plenty of situations where you'd need to push or maybe even ram another vehicle out of your way. And without reinforcements all those hits will take a toll on your vehicle.. should it be the fenders cutting the tires or the radiator being pushed into the fan

My old XJ is chocked, locked and ready to freaking rock. Load up the food stores we have and all the guns. Head up to the buttes set up the long rifle with the ballist hollow points and wait. When the first one gets with in 500 yards, I'll carve its skull out like a freaking canoe. God bless the Nosler Ballist tip bullets LOL. But I know I would have to try for a 2 in one and a hat trick.

I would definitely load up on at least 3 car batteries and wire them in.. Doesnt matter how much gas you got if theres no power to crank the dang thing, and those batteries wont last more than a year or so setting unused in a vehicle..

when you really think about it even if you do survive the apocalypse and all the zombies eventually die off. you'd be one of the last ppl in the world. i mean ofcourse there would be more than just you but honestly how likely is it that you would run into someone? so after giving it some thot... i would find a metal shop and do some welding to stiffin up my xj. make it a rolling brick s*** house. and maybe fab up a quick brush guard for added ramming abilities. and then id go get a good gun to carry with sufficient amounts of ammo, just whatever i can find i suppose and then id just go on a crazy zombie killing rampage. screw running away id have fun with it. make it more challenging. that way if i do survive then i would at least have feeling of accomplishment. and if i dont survive then.... well i'd be dead (or a zombie) so i cant say id be to upset about it.

or option two... pull a Bill Murray and make yourself look like a zombie and go play golf everyday hahaha
