Default Xj Transmissions

I got a 1995 jeep xj and the trans went out I believe (won't move) and I have a 1989 parts jeep with a good trans I know that the transfer case has vacuum lines and my 95 don't will the 4x4 still work with out the lines? Please help!

I just looked In my jeep catalog and the transfer case for my 95 is a 23 spline and it also says the 89 is a 23 could my t-case off the 95 fit the 89 trans

Vac lines are for the stupid axle disconnect on the early years. The transfer case itself works the same way.

So I would still have my 4x4 if I use it?

Sorry, are you doing a full transmission swap? I'm not an expert on the AW4 but I'm pretty sure that big of an age difference the computers aren't compatible (nor are the connectors etc). Someone else should know that

It's all the same, same plugs same wires

i thought they were 21 spline until like 92?

Spline shaft from tranny to 95 t case might be off, I've been through this before and had to swap everything over.
