Well, I sold the XJ yesterday and I doubt I'll be in another one, unless I can find a 97-99 4.0 5-spd w/ decent mileage. Although I have been eying a 91 2-door w/ a 5spd and only 111k on it. Here in a couple of weeks, I might just find myself still with the Jeep brand. If I choose to stay with an auto, I'll be looking for a 98 V8 ZJ or a V8 WJ. If (and probably will) go with an manual, I'll be looking for a YJ/TJ, 00-02 Subaru Impreza, or whatever $4500 finds me.
Since everyone likes pics, here ya go in chronological order.
Sittin' on the lot w/ 225s and stock

235s, stock suspension, fender trimming w/ flares

30s, stock suspension

30s, 2.25" lift

33s, 2.25" lift. It didn't last long. Drive-ability and MPGs sucked, looked bad *** though!

31s, 2.25" lift and much happier with performance and MPGs. Second wheeling trip.

32s, 2.25" lift. 32s were a nice happy medium between 31s and 32s. I wheeled about five times with this combo and it worked very well.

31s, 2.25" lift. I traded the 32s for some 31s due to cash flow problems and the dwindling interest in wheeling. This is the way the XJ looked before it was sold.

I'm really hope that 91 is still available in a couple weeks. I would just buy it now, bit I needed the XJ proceeds to pay bills. I'm still laid off at the moment and going back to college. I'll be getting a residual check in a couple weeks, but I'll need to find another rig within a week. So it basically boils down to what options I have available when I have money in hand.

There wasn't much of a difference in the ride between the two, but I did notice a difference in power (increase) going from a 32" M/T to a 31" A/T. Also, the handling was a bit more crisp/responsive with the 31s vs the 32s. I never took it off road again after I switched to the A/Ts.

I sure know they are enjoying them! Thanks Rob! It doesn't have to be a 2-door. I'm just looking for a 5-spd in good condition and preferably stock.
