If you guys are looking for a Jeep forum that is a little less strict, I suggest you check out NAXJA. It sounds to to me like it will suit the two of you better, they would love your previous avatar there too.

Not looking for less strict Im looking for one that does'nt disrespect eachother by making rude comments about someone who put up a post that someone else already responded to. I like this forum alot but dont like the way some people are on here with their fake threads making fun of people and their lifts. You know who I'm talking too. You know who you are.

For the most part, everybody here is respectful. But, i've noticed lately that there has been quite a few VERY rude posts by some. And what bothers me the most is, some of these posts is actually from the Moderators!

Maybe it's because CherokeeForum is getting too large. Maybe it's time to weed out all of the Undesirables, Trolls, and especially the Newbies that haven't acquired the experience to do a "thread Search" yet. I really don't know?

Honestly, i'd expect this from NAXJA, but i NEVER thought this would happen here...

OK, this is about me then right? I'm short on time at the moment... but i'll be back shortly to address this.

Is this what your referring to?

Take a look at the link i posted above. It's another thread on a 2wd to 4wd conversion. Now go back and see how many threads we have in a single week on this subject... it's not uncommon to have several threads within just the first few pages. Now compare how many of them i asked the poster to search.. i think you'll find this is the first one.

This particular thread was asked by someone with a 94 Cherokee, a few replies followed giving insight by some members here.. including the OP of this thread. (BTW i think your reply could be considered ruder than mine) Now look further in the thread you'll notice a second person asking for the information also.. i believe he had a 98 Cherokee. Starting to see the issue? Theres a different answer for each... and i eluded to that fact when i mentioned the compatability issue.

By posting a single answer in this thread someone is going to get wrong information unless it's a long very detailed post. I simply attempted to avoid that but still give direction to both posters. I guess i could have searched for them myself and linked a particular thread to each... but i didnt have time. If you notice i logged off for the evening after that post.

I'm sorry if you took that as being rude or disrespectful to either poster, that wasnt my intention. I'm a new Mod here but i do moderate elsewhere so i do have experience and think i have a pretty level head. I'v been spending alot of time here since taking on this duty and attempting to help the team here, i do this for the good of the CF members... not because i'm compensated to do so. Ask anyone who has Moderator experience and they'll tell you it's a thankless job for the most part, keep that in mind when you think of the team here. There only trying to make things better for CF membership as a whole.

Well theres my .02..

with the amount of users on this site, there is bound to be some "disrespect". in the end, its just the internet. if you dont like something, go read another thread.

99% of forum "search" features are very vauge and don't get u to the answer to your particular problem...

Thus why asking will net u a faster better response 99% of the time.. as long as u have FELLOW MEMBERS who are kind enough to take one measily minute out of their day to help someone in need... your surfing this forum.. you cant be ALL THAT BUSY!

yes sir, i agree...

i cant begin to count how many threads there are on who does what for their job...but i still answer them all...if i didnt want to, i wouldnt have opened it...i would have read the thread and realized, oh ive already answered this question, lets move onto the next thread..

and yes there are threads like that about tires vs lift, what kinda axles do i have, what gearing do i have, yada yada yada...but i still answer them...

i agree that the search function can be very vauge most of the time, and it really turns out to be a waste of time...now im not saying that if some one typed in right now just to prove me wrong "what tire size should i go with if i have a 3.5 inch lift"...bc im sure that could bc found easier then others..it was just an example

And this is why we need to make our thread title descriptive of the content, to increase the usability of the search feature. Threads such as "NEW HERE...NEED HELP ASAP" do nothing to aid in the usable data brought by a search.

I'm willing to bet some here dont realize that there are search options, such as searching by author and by thread title/content. It's probably underused.

If we all make a effort we can improve upon the search result feature.

Just sayin...

Default WOW... the people here ROCK!!!

As the OP, i wasn't trying to point fingers at anybody.
Yes, John your post did "set me off" just a bit. And yes, i think my post was ruder. For that i apologize to you ALL!!!

The thing that's been really been ticking me off lately is the the general treatment of the Newbies.

I really don't think that i can add anything else to this thread that hasn't already been said.

Many, many thanks to all that posted!!!

BTW- Just for the record, 99% of my posts will still end with...

Hope this helps!

It's all good dude...

As a community there are going to be disagreements. It's how each member of that commumity reacts and treats each other that makes it a good community.

Willingness to accept others opinions and thoughts is what seperates an outcome such as this... compared to some others in the past. It's called an open mind.

I thank you for sharing your opinion and the opportunity to share mine.

I felt the need to post here because of the threads title, which I agree with but not necessarily with the opinions posted previously. Some people are just thin-skinned and will take offense at anything or anyone that doesn't satisfy or agree with them immediately.
Like most on here I've tried to give advice/help when I can, or look for the needed info if it's something I'm not familiar with. Lots of times since I've been here someone else will post the needed answer before I can find and post it. That's great. Other times I never could find, either through "Search" or other sources, the needed info. I tried though. Like all the HVAC repair info I sent to countless people off the regular CF forum. They weren't rude they were grateful. As was I when other Members have helped me through the Jeep experience since joining CF.
I know CF is like a large family and has some issues with personality conflicts but considering it's size, I think CF is doing very well.
End of rant. Sorry for the long winded post.
