Default WTF! Alot of Disrespect Here Lately...

Now that i've got everyone's attention, what's the deal?

For the most part, everybody here is respectful. But, i've noticed lately that there has been quite a few VERY rude posts by some. And what bothers me the most is, some of these posts is actually from the Moderators!

Maybe it's because CherokeeForum is getting too large. Maybe it's time to weed out all of the Undesirables, Trolls, and especially the Newbies that haven't acquired the experience to do a "thread Search" yet. I really don't know?

Honestly, i'd expect this from NAXJA, but i NEVER thought this would happen here...

Frustration combined with mania of grandeur, mostly due to vapid lifes in the reality, make a person desrespectful on the internet.

i wouldnt say we need to get rid of those newbies...we all had to start somewhere...and even if there are some newbies that do it over and over again, so what, let em be...if they arent acting disrespectful, whats the problem

the way to solve that problem is simply, if one of the more experienced members in here sees a thread he or she doesnt like, or cant believe it was just asked 2 days ago, then DONT open the thread...and if for some reason you DO open the thread its nobodies fault but your own...THEN, if you actually feel the need to say something, hey, there were lots of places you coulda stopped and backed outa the thread, you dont have to get snooty with the newbie just bc your to weak minded to JUST NOT OPEN THE THREAD...

anyways, that my .02...and no i did not mean any disrespect by this...not saying who does it and who doesnt do it...just throwing it out there

I for one, consider myself a 'Newbie', and for the most part would still consider to be one even years from now. I do TRY and serch, but sometimes I just can't find what I'm looking for. OR I find it and someone take said topic off into a new direction from the original post. So yes you will always have people posting the samething over and over.

I for one would be FINE, if I posted something that was covered 10x before if someone posted: "Hey here's the link to that question".

As for the Disrespect, although I havn't been on CF for long, I thought the same thing, but wasn't totaly sure. As for the Disrespect by MODS...I haven't seen any, but again, I haven't read each and every topic, so can't say one way or another. Just noticed a few comments on things that I thought were a little disgruntle. But this IS a open to all fourm, and each and everyone has a right to say whatever they want, but if what they say violates the rules, then they inturn are subject to what ever the punishment is for said violation.

But for the most part all the input/advice I have gotten and seen others get has been great. I for one am THRILLED I found CF and have a place to ask questions (even for the 1,000,000 x) and have others to either help, or that can relate to my situation.

x2 im agreeing with hommer on this except the redneck part. I havent seen much disrespect on here at all. GO TO PIRATE 4X4 AND ASK A QUESTION AND THEN YOU'LL KNOW WHAT DISRESPECT IS! Adding my opinion that its tiring to see budget boost questions asked over and over and over. I've bin on here for only alittle bit and i've seen countless times a topic thread started asking something when the same topic was just asked and its only a few post under it. I think we should just make a massive sticky on budget boost questions and have it pop up when newbs first log on or it is automatically pm'd to them when they sign up.

This is the reason why I joined CF versus some of the other cherokee forums. I have to say out of all of the forums I have ever been on this one is by far the cleanest and nicest of them all. I think we should make efforts to keep it that way. I also do agree that there has been some disrespect lately, but as long as the people who reply to the offending post do so in a kind manner the offender will learn to be respectful.

I am a so called newbie as well, and always do a thread search before I post a question. It can be difficult to sort through all the post because keywords are used in so many different ways. I have yet to find anyone be overly rude to me and if I did find one... I am a big boy and I can handle it. I have experienced many forums not related to this one and have seen many of these rude posters in every one of them. It comes with the freedom of internet use. This to me is just an example of real life. You will run across those you dont like and those you do. You deal with those you dont like or you just ignore it. Not to minimize your post or say your concern is not founded, just that this is what it is. I just learn to take the punches and move on. Life is too short to concern myself with small people and my real world is always bigger than my internet world.

Haha thats funny but true
Nice sig, looks like Napoli?

Ive been on a lot of forums mostly DSM, but this forum is great, I love you can post a Q and you get answers quick. I don't like how people come in here and post topic over topic with the same questions w/o using the search bar first. I think there should be more skicky's and more moderation on noobie posts. Just my .00002 <--- oh no thats more than 4 characters.

your always going to have people asking the same questions. The fact of the matter is most of us are driving a suv that has been around for well over a decade. so theres nothing that hasn't been covered at least once. New people get the jeep and don't always think ahead to search before they post. but if you think about it and everybody did that then how many new post would you see a day. maybe 5? not disagreeing, i hate seeing the same thing asked 20 times a day in 20 threads, but its sorta what you have to look forward to on an automotive forum.

And as for the disrespect, well it happens and a post every know and then like yours to remind people of what this forum should be about isn't a bad thing

I'm definitely a newbie with CF, but one thing I can say is that it's one of the best (if not THE best) XJ forum - it's the only one I'm advertising for on my Jeep if that says anything (thanks to NATHAN for getting the sticker to me so quick!) Anyway, people have differing opinions and I really don't think disrespect is intended by anyone, but sometimes it just comes across that way. If you have posted something and someone else disagrees with your post, take it and move on. There are rules when it comes to posting and the only time I've ever seen the moderators get even remotely near rudeness is when they're trying to enforce the rules that make this such a great forum. Just my .02.
