I've been convicted of insurance fraud. Any time an accident happens and you report it as anything else than what really happened it is lawfully fraud. But it's only a felony if you get caught.

first the dent could most likely be fixed by PDR (paintless dent repair) for less then 150.00 if the paint isnt broken....second it isnt hit and run if you got her info

I am a clam manager and on storm duty right now in North carolina and have seen over 100 cars with HEAVY hail damage and PDR is how they are getting fixed....as long as the PAINT is not cracked or rubbed off at the damaged area it can be fixed with out painting.
if the paint is broken they will only paint the damaged area...you will NEVER get the whole Jeep painted by insurance with out your participation (called betterment) .. i agree that people suck and you want to punish them but in reality...when you go after the insurance company you aint punishing the person that did it...good luck

Sounds to me like he was saying tell your friends you did it on the trail. Not telling insurance company that.

Use what money, the money from his biddies feeling sorry for him. Not a chance fella, he was talking about lying to the insurance company. End of story!

Sorry to rant like this but it is not people who damage other peoples property that make our rates go up its people who lie to the Insurance companies to get something they dont deserve, and by the dont most of the time need. People who lie is what drives up cost. ie: medical malpractice and automotive accident lawsuits! There you have it!
