Default 96 4.0 won't fire after head rebuild

Wtf. I have fuel pressure, spark, and compression. The distributor was not moved during the rebuild so its not 180 out and it ran fine before I pulled the head.

What am I missing here? I can't get it to pop or anything, even with a some starting fluid.

Can't remember for sure but i think the ground to the firewall attaches to one of the back headbolts? Sounds simple but it would be easy to miss.

If you have fuel, spark, and compression it will run. your missing one of those. do some more in depth tests. I'd put my money on spark. Check to make sure you put the plug wires on the right cylinders. Easy to overlook that one. (done it myself). Definitely go over all your connections again, even ones you didn't mess with. You may have knocked something loose during removal/install. Start simple.

Did you remove the plug wires from the distributor? Do you remember/mark the point that was originally to the #1 cylinder and put that one back as the #1?

One thing that will keep an engine with fuel, spark and compression from firing is being flooded. Also mine wont fire unless it's cranking really well. These things don't seem to like any lack of voltage starting. #1 is at 5:00 viewed from the side.
If you cracked or damaged the map line while you where working, lack of vac to the MAP might flood it.
