WTF.
the only way to get thru to a civvy is with violence. I'da F'd him up. yeah my jeep has dents/scratches, but it's the principle. every time I've banged up another car (not very often), I always found the owner and made sure everything was right. if they weren't there Id leave my number, yaknow?
Violence may not be the "right" or "pc" answer, but it sure does get a response. keep ranting

No. It doesn't work that way, the World is an imperfect place and we don't live in a utopia where everything is fair. Pissing and moaning will not get it your way, it just makes you look like an a$$. An insurance compay will not pay to repaint an intire 10 year old vehicle just because some a-hole stomps his little feet and complains about the repaired area not matching the faded out original paint.

Yesterday after work I was sitting in my 2000 xj, when this kid in a BMW opened his door HARD right into the side of my Jeep. Not noticing I was in the vehicle he makes this dumb looking face and starts to get in his car and drive away. After getting the little punks attention I point out the small but very noticeable crease/dent in my passenger side door. I was pissed but managed to control myself and did get his insurance information. I have a $500 dollar deductible and the damage is not big enough for me to want to pay to get fixed, but it's large enough to be very noticable from the right angle. I dont know it looks like this jerk is going to get away with this crap, because I don't feel like paying the money for something he did, I don't know just thought I would rant about the inconsiderate people out there, but it is freakin BS.

Wouldn't work, at least where I live. A couple months ago I was driving and some lady pulled into the turning lane in the middle of the road then swerverd into my lane and hit me. I tried to pull over and she gunned it so I chased her to get her license plate and eventually got it after she was driving like a ****ing lunatic. I called the police station and had me come to the station so they could check out the damage. They wouldn't give me a accident report just a "INCIDENT" report or something because I "LEFT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME" and there wasn't enough damage supposedly. I eventually got a call from the cop and they got the girl in and did absolutely nothing about it. So now I have scraped up paint down the side of my truck and have to pay myself to get it fixed.

The police cannot decide if whether or not there is enough damage done. It is your property and it has been damaged. Speak with a supervisor of the sheriff's department. If he fails to resolve the situation, take it to court. Nothing ends with the police. There's higher channels. She damaged your car (created a liability) and now is required to produce a remedy (she or her insurance pays for it). It is in violation of US common law. Also, you have about 50 years from the date of an incident to have it resolved through the court system, regardless of what anyone may tell you.
Good to know!
I don't think she had insurance because I chased her for about 15 miles going down the highway at about 90 and she was swerving all over the place, getting in turn lanes then swerving out into traffic at the last second. A guy I work with saw it too. I think it will buff out but not sure so it's not a HUGE deal. Just would rather not have them down the side of my truck.
