whats with the vent windows?

It is strictly an option. Nothing to do with what year your XJ is.

Some XJs I have had, 91 4dr fixed, 89 4dr functional, 87 4dr functional, 90 2dr fixed.

Some of my brothers, 94 4dr functional, 95 4 dr functional, 89 4dr fixed, 89 2dr functional, 91 4dr functional.

The 2 door models even had optional vent windows in the rear quarter glass.

I am not sure on the later models 97-01 if the were available, I have not seen one with functioning vent windows.

Yea I have the little quarter windows on the back

but my front ones are fixed

well this is an interesting little thread.. i like the little shorty rear windows.. i always thought that it was a model year thing.
