2000 xj, traded a 2000 gtp grand prix for it straight up, she even took over the payments. I valued the jeep at around 4500 when I got it, now I wouldn't trade for anything, plus I don't think anyone would want it after the abuse I have put her through. had 100k back then, 175k now, just over 2 1/2 years later. So basically got er for free : )

Got mine for $300 from a friend at work. only needed a motor mount and some love. Had 120k on it, but motor was replaced at 75k due to his son.
Now has about 190k and have had it for little over 2 years.

I paid 400$ for 2 XJ. One 1988 4x4 with a 2wd auto trany and a 1990 totaled one for parts(sold a week later for 250$). So yeah I paid 150$ for my XJ!!!What a deal!!!But I had to find a 4wd auto trany(that cost me 100$ and had it completely rebuild with a shift kit and heavy duty components). After all the repairs I got my XJ running for around 2000$. Not to bad, considering I have a new trany with performance mods!!!

Got mine last sept. 1991 Briarwood with loose tilt column. Was at lot and I saw it first day they had it. The salesman said to check back when i asked about price. So i scoped it out and waited. 5 days later they posted it online for $400. What the? I printed the post and scrambled down there. They had $1400 on the window, but when i showed the copy i had made the had to honor it. At that time I did not realize how lucky I was. I think now that even $1400 would have been a good deal for this rig.

The 95 we got (bought it from Dad) was bought off Craigslist for $500 with a knock. I told dad its a torque convertor loose. Was side swiped.
The 88 parts Jeep was $125 we used the doors on the 95 and a few others.
The 87 XJ aka Money Pit was $500 needing an engine. If I didn't have a good engine already I would not have bought it.
The Money Pit will be my boys Jeep to drive IF he ever passes his driving test. He turns 16 in Aug.

Darrnit, I paid 3000 for my stock 1997 XJ, seems like I may have overpaid, but it has been the best vehicle I have owned as far as fun factor counts, and that's saying alot since I was a SVT Mustang Cobra owner previous 2 my Jeep. Fast muscle cars are cool n all but my Cheeko is WAY better and much more fun! Just wait till i get my baby lifted there is no comparison....

What would you price this at?

2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport (Black) 4 door 4WD Automatic. 118K miles. Blue Book Value: $4800 (excellent) $3500 (fair).

It needs some work but it is a great ride for a Jeep/off-road enthusiast and a good deal for driveway mechanics. I am going to miss it but I just don't have the money to fix it and don't have the time or mechanical ability to do all of the work myself or with friends.

Features:
4.0 Liter, 6 Cylinder Engine,
Automatic, 4WD, 4 Door
3 Inch Skyjack Lift Kit
Big Wheels and Tires
Air Conditioning, Roof Rack,
Power Steering, Windows, Doors
Dual Airbags, ABS brakes
AM/FM Stereo/Tape/CD
Steel Wheels
Privacy Glass
Tilt Wheel
Running Boards
Rain guards
Rubber mats on floor and trunk.
and more.

Pros:
- My wife's Dad bought the car for my wife from original owner with around 25K on it back in 2003.
- Clean title, service records, oil changed religiously.
- It has been garaged for the last 7 years.
- It has never been off-road in salt or sand.
- The body is in great shape. No rust.
- Interior is in good shape.

Cons:
- It has a blown head gasket (as of Monday) - confirmed via a compression check test. I’ve been quoted $800 to 1200 by the local mechanic to remove and send it to a machine shop for evaluation, repair (if there is a warped head) or possible replacement.

- AC does not work. May need a new evaporator or compressor. Quoted $600-800 to fix. Easy fix but labor cost is a pain to get to.
- Front driver speaker is shorted out.
- CD/Tape player AM/FM radio but the tape player doesn't work. CD and radio are fine.
- There is a blemish below the hood right above the grill.
- Driver automatic door lock just shorted out.
- Crack in windshield.
- Ding on upper right tailgate from pole.
