I keep going back and changing more.......but after doing the plugs and then the wires even though it was running smooth I took a peek at the inside of the distributor cap and rotor. Holy smokes ! At each terminal there was a ball of black crap almost as big as a pencil eraser! So today, it got a new cap and rotor. Maybe if I quit looking under the hood I can quit spending money on her? Nope, I just have to peek!
I got bored and put Jeep XJ into the search box at the Etsy site.
Lot a swag that I don't really care about but did find a couple things that I thought were interesting.
So this is more a wondering what I should buy so I can do stuff to my XJ post.
My $1400 stimulus check is pending in my checking account. Will clear on Wednesday next week.
I was a good boy with the first $1200 one. I saved it.
Blew the second $600 one on the Jeep.
Thinking I might try to save a $1000 out of the third one and blow the rest on the Jeep.
I thought oldblue#2 said it best when he called it the "Jeep Stimulus".
Then there was this from way back when.
EDIT:
Took me forever to find who posted this shot but it was 4.3L XJ. LOL.
First he added the belt routing for the '96 and down.
And what appears to be a Mopar sticker that would be on the factory hitch.
Never seen that one before.
The child lock sticker showed up. Have to see if that is like what is on the Jeep.
The Select A Trac sticker which I compared to one I took off a Jeep at the boneyard.
Which looks real accurate except for one thing.
The 4PT, N, and 4LO are yellow on the boneyard sticker.
His look orange.
But seeing how someday I would like to swap out my 231 for a 242 I can live with that.
Cause you can't buy that sticker anymore either.
Also the jack storage sticker. Compared to one I grabbed at the boneyard it looks real accurate too.
But I am not seeing the jack instructions sticker that you would find under the seat with the storage sticker yet.
Bet it is coming though. LOL.
EDIT:
Apparently I spoke just a little to soon about the sticker on the trailer hitch.
Finally scoped out the child lock sticker on my Jeep.
And noticed that there is also writing on the back of it that can be viewed from the inside.
So he says they do apply on inside and are slightly bigger but no mention or picture about the writing on the back.
So I am going with these are not an exact replica.
It'll physically fit but had a different fuel system so it really wouldn't work. All 97-01 Cherokees are a returnless system that uses a pump module. 96s still had return lines (if I'm remembering correctly).
