Got the oil change and tune up done. Plugs, cap and rotor were all horrible looking.

Having some oil pressure issues. The gauge sometimes reads 30 other times none and the check gauges light turns on. But the sending unit is relatively new and the pump was replaced in 2019. Please help.

Thinking I would give your wiring to the sensor a once over.
Also put a mechanical gauge on her to get a real reading.
When you take out the sensor to hook up the mechanical gauge clean out the hole that the sensor screws into.
Sometimes it gets clogged a little and will give inaccurate readings.

I have a similar issue, except sometimes its reads 40 sometimes it reads 60 but mostly it reads 50.

PB Blasted some of the exposed fittings for bumpers/shocks, CA bushings and bolts, seat bolts ect.
Afterwards, I thought I would shoot a basic quick video of what she looks like.
Our upload speed is ridiculous slow

Of course after editing/watching this I hit all the rear stuff I missed. :P

Did a shakedown run to make sure the new bushings were good to go. Drove fantastic. Got a little dirty too.

So in the perfect trifecta that is my life, all of these things have happened in the last 10 days concerning the evolution of my rig:

1) Last Monday I started installing the new stroker head I bought from Titan Engines here in Ocala. Almost *every* lifter was so stuck that they required more than the nuclear powered 5 pound magnet to remove them. I was glad I purchased new ones as I destroyed them with the special, longer pliers I had to buy when i removed them. I guess the OEM ones had over 260K on the clock and were IN THERE. The new head came fully assembled with springs and LS exhaust valves. It is really pretty:

Out with the old

In with the new

I was surprised that I was able to get the 90 pound cylinder head off and on by myself with no hoist but hey, I am pretty determined...

Determined to break something apparently. In my haste getting the intake manifold off I snapped a major vacuum line and I must have either nicked or otherwise broke the hard line from the gas tank to the fuel rail, as it was literally pouring gas when I primed the system after install. And I have to work in the morning.

You all know this is my daily driver so at this point with no time left on the clock and darkness crushing my spirit, I dusted off the motorcycle and called a tow truck for the next morning. I found a shop I wanted to try that is a little farther than I would normally go. The shop that I use occasionally that is only a couple of miles from here was off the table because get this: last time I went in there for something basic the owner of the shop insulted me and the entire Jeep culture by saying we are all ruining our rigs with "all the mods". When I asked him what the heck his problem was since he was profiting off of our mistakes and anyways, it was what we like to do, he insinuated I should just "get a new Jeep then".

I'm not sure why someone would be this stupid. I work hard and I deserve to do whatever the hell I want with my hard earned dollars. If I want to break it and then fix it, that's my prerogative. Maybe he was just mad that I wouldn't let him gouge me for $1200 to replace the heater core when I said that it would be fine (and it has been for 2 years, huh). Regardless, that guy isn't getting any more of my money.

So anyways I find this guy in downtown Ocala, he comes to my home and tows the Jeep to his shop. This is Wednesday afternoon. He says he'll know something by the next day. So the following day at close of business I call and he acts annoyed, saying he hasn't had time to look at it yet. I give it the weekend and call back yesterday, meanwhile I'm driving the bike to work in the cold and rain, getting soaked, etc.

I'm told he hasn't looked at it STILL. So at this point it's a Tuesday and he's had my rig for almost an entire week with no action and I feel lied to. The reason I gave up and had it towed in the first place is that I have a restaurant to run and I just didn't have the time to get it fixed myself...but by NOW I could have just ordered the parts from Summit and installed them myself in my own driveway. The worst part is this: I'm going to call him again in a few hours and I just KNOW he's about to tell me that we have to wait on this part that he could have ordered last week.

This guy will never get my business again, and I'm bracing myself for the (what I am guessing will be) astronomical bill for simple installation of a vacuum line and a fuel line.

Lesson learned? Probably not. I'll freaking do it again!

This also happens to my rig. I've found that every other oil change I take the oil pressure sensor out and spelunk behind it with a very long zip tie to clear the blocked passages behind it. Not sure how scientific or accurate this is as far as trouble shooting the actual problem but it seems to work for me. The jury is still out as to why this happens, because I don't use any leak sealer or anything coagulative. Perhaps the Rotella T6 that I use is the issue, but I do like all the zinc for the flat tappets so I consider it a necessary nuisance. Anyways this fixes the issue for several thousand miles until I have to do it again.

So I did finally talk to the mechanic, at which point I fully impressed on him the need to get my DD back ASAP. I don't think he was aware that it wasn't a "project car" as he stated. Anyways after several apologies and promises to get it done in the next few days I am satisfied that this build is finally on the right track.

Thankfully the weather looks like it'll not be raining this week as I commute to work and back on my bike. There is nothing worse than showing up to work in a shirt and tie that is soaked thru to the bone and then having to just get through the day that way.

And no, I don't own rain gear because I didn't anticipate having to rely on the bike as my only mode of transport for this long. I'll have to add this to the Amazon list.

I spent the afternoon wondering around the local junkyard. They dropped a 5.9 ZJ this morning, I got there 3 hours after opening and it was already stripped. Then I found a limited XJ someone had mostly stripped the interior out of but had left the door cards except the drivers door had been broken in 3 spots. I ended up not wasting the trip and pulling a set of 06 Tiburon seats I'm going to put in my XJ possibly this weekend if this nice weather holds out.

Talked to my buddy today about putting the rear suspension in the Jeep.
Explained to him all the possible pitfalls and he said sure.
But that I had to help. LOL.
Which is why I wanted him to do it anyway. So I could be part of the process.
Well that and he has a lift. MLOL.
But still won't be anytime soon.

Default Jeep is ready!

I usually keep my toy in my backyard safe and secure, but with the impending storm, I pulled it out front so I can drive it around.

Changed out the ESIM module. Went off a Grand Cherokee you tube vid, and instead of it being located at RF wheel as in the Grand, its up behind gas tank filler tube. Right rear.

Gas tank now fills properly. Paid $70.00 CA for the part.
