Either or. That clip will last longer than me but it would be nice to have a plastic one for the other rig.
At the risk of sounding kinky. I prefer the ribbed rods ours have. I have grabbed a few spare rods from the yards.
It came up in a thread awhile back.
About some of the rods looking threaded but not and one that actually were.
Either they listed a part number or I poked around the internet and found the part number.
Well I found one to order, fell through, and did not try again.
Reason being was for all I know I have the threaded one in my Jeep already.
When I fixed latch problem never even occurred to me that it might not be threaded.
Looked like it was but.....
So I figured next time I am in there will take a closer look.
If it turns out I don't have the threaded one might put some effort into locating it.
Until then though........
Now the yellow rod clip on the other hand.......
Yep. This time around the bolt snapped in the middle of the sleeve and the weld nut did not break free. I had to cut a hole in the "pocket" and bash it out with a hammer and a chisel - even used an electric hammer drill to help out. One of the loudest and most discouraging things I've had to do since working on cars but I got it out. Now I can finally get the new suspension and axle(s) installed!
Finally from the finest NAPA specified Chinesium, likely crafted by my wife's cousins in Maoistan, I have a new rear wiper blade from the Rock Auto dusty discount bin. Not sure if I got it on right, but I know I will have a time getting it off. And yes, these are sized like lumber. Nothing on them is 13" long.
Used some rubberized style JB weld to put the top screw back into the top radiator support to keep it from vibrating around. Called around and no one had a replacement top isolator support mount so I tried to fix the one I had.
My new high flow radiator is just a hair shorter than the old stock OEM one...so there's just a little gap between the top of the isolator and the metal cover plate on top of it.
