Do you have a welder? Easy peasy job. If not just take it to a local fab shop, they'll hook you up right quick, for probably not much coin...

They make replacement shock mount studs. They are fairly cheap and the only fab work needed is to cut off the old broken one, a little grinding and drilling a hole to mount the stud to.

When I was doing my lift install I had a shock stud break off on me. All I did was put the wrench on the nut, then my phone rang. I took the call and went to go remove the nut and the wrench, nut and threaded part of the stud were laying in the driveway

I cut off the old stud, ground the surface smooth, drilled the hole and bolted in the new replacement. Then as a bit of security I ran a weld round the front and back of the stud and have had no problems with it since. I am actually kind of glad it snapped in the driveway and not while traveling at highway speeds.

Got my 242 back in place last night. Called in backup from a giant iron worker in the local club and he brought his big floor jack. Got all the parts buttoned back together today. Highway squalling noise is gone, jeep is quieter than its ever been, so that is a 4-yr-old checklist item down.

Theres an old stick in the garage but ive only ever used a mig. Maybe I can think of another useful project for practice like a new bench cause the garage looks like a bomb went off

I looked at and drooled over the Truck Lites for a long time before I gave up trying to make due with the stock headlights. I finally went with the Putco harness and a Hella ecode H4 conversion because it fit my budget much better. It came out to just south of $300 after taxes with the Hella setup. I wish I had done a before and after picture because the improvement was astounding. I can't find the numbers, but I think that the Truck Lites have a higher output and better pattern than the Hella ecodes.

I bought mine with last year's tax return. For the price of the H4 conversion I wanted and the added cost of an extra set of bulbs, it was only $75 more to get the TruckLites with the sale I found. Plus they're gonna look damn good once I respray the YJ desert tan

The best price I have found on Truck Lites is just over $600 Canadian, so more than twice the cost of the Hellas for me
