Quote: The wire harness is a stop gap solution. Eventually I'll make my own harness with 10 or 12 AWG silicone wire and a wireless switch, but I didn't want to deal with that right now. When I do that, I may replace my battery and alternator cables, and upgrade the grounding system.
I just did this recently, with the light bar. Battery upgrades and ZJ alt coming next. I have both my 10" and 50" light bars on a wireless 2-channel key fob. Works great! Pretty easy to wire up, too.

Quote: Plugged in the block heater and connected the battery charger to it. It is -4° here this morning, but it started no problem just after Christmas when it was -13°.

Battery is showing 90% capacity on the charger, so I am hoping it is nothing more serious than me parking it in a different place and it not getting the morning sun to warm it up a bit. I will know more in in about 1/2 an hour when I go try start it again.

If it starts up that means i will have to start plugging it in every night till we get through this cold spell, or buy a new battery.

*Update*

Yup it just doesn't like the new parking spot, it doesn't get a couple hours of morning sun to warm it up where it is parked now. 30 minutes with the block heater plugged in and it started right up. Guess I am going to have to start using the block heater till this cold spell moves through and we get more seasonable temperatures again I am going to give it another 30 minutes on the block heater and charger before I take off today.
Here they say you should plug it in for 2-4 hours before starting if it's colder than -7C (20F). My car plug is on a timer set to turn on from 2am to 6am to give me at least 2 hours, depending on what time I have to work that particular morning.

Right now I have no set time that I leave the house so a timer is hit and miss I just checked the temps out side and it is a balmy -24° C or -11° F in American so I will just keep it plugged in overnight till this cold spell breaks on Friday. I am actually fairly far south for Canada so these little cold snaps don't last long.

It was -10°F when I left work last week, and I still have the doors and windows off my Wrangler It's only a 30 minute commute with about 20 highway miles

Ummmm, it did not get above 46F today. Heck, on Saturday we barely hit 40F. That is freaking cold for here. It will be 67F on Saturday and Sunday. Y'all can keep that cold crap. We bake during the summer, but our winters are not that bad.

Oh, I walked by the Jeep today and decided I need to tint the windows.

I get the biggest kick out of fall and spring here. In the spring when it starts to warm up people are out in shorts and t shirts, yet in the fall when it starts to cool down they are bundled up in full winter gear. What is funny is it is the same temperature range in both seasons The sad thing is I am guilty of it too, just not as bad when it starts to cool off

32oz?

That vacuum port isn't a fill plug?

Walked outside and started it up, no problem. Plugging in the block heater was the answer to my woes. Much cheaper fix than moving to a warmer climate, but I still think I need to move someplace where the bottom part of the thermometer doesn't get used, ever.

You probably can't get there in Canada.
