Oh, I thought you had the parts but just needed help doing the job.

Speaking of jobs, do you have one?

Took it in for a safety and alignment yesterday, appointment was today. Passed the safety, but they had problems with the machine and got tied up with another job so the alignment didn't get done It is OK though because I don't have the cash to buy plates and registration sticker till Monday It was a relief to know all the time and the money I put into it wasn't a waste License office opens at 8:30 am and I will be first in line, but it is a small town so I may be the only person in line

Wired my new 14" led light bar and installed it up front. I had three of those cheapy autozone halogen spot lights. I tried to install the Bar using the stock headlight switch and it didn't work? So I ditched that idea and went ahead and wired it up how I did my 40" bar up on top relay and all, all I need to do tomorrow is cover the wiring and wash it since we finally had rain in California. :P oh btw that's my son always wanting to work on the jeep.

You take these "guts" from the prop valve of the donor vehicle, typically a 94 to 98 Grand Cherokee.
Honestly I haven't had to swap the guys yet on mines. I still have the ones from David's kit just in case. I believe the larger the tires, the better the chance of needing them

I only swapped the spring in the prop valve. The other part looked identical to my original. I can lock up my rear wheels just about. Feels like double the braking power

You need to swap the Proportioning valve guts...........Or the whole valve if you have one.

The reason for this is that the drum brakes do not require nearly as much pressure to operate............The stock proportioning valve limits the pressure going to the rear brakes.....(by a lot)
Now you have rear disc brakes operating on much less pressure than they require to work properly........

Also, the stock proportioning valve may have a residual pressure check valve designed to hold a slight amount of pressure to the rear system all the time(to overcome the return spring force of the stock shoes)...........This does not work well with disc brakes..................(think about the pads being held against the rotor all the time while you drive)

Your rear disc brakes might work (slightly) but they are not working properly...............Trust us!

Hi thanks. I know he difference between the disk/ drum and disk/disk proportioning valves. And it works well and I don't need to lock my tires up. They grab plenty well for stock tires which I'm at right now. Come larger tires yes you'll need the extra and proper power. In pouring rain I can slam on y brakes and stop without locking my brakes up. The drums would lock up. I also said on mines I haven't. Never told anyone not to real do theirs. Plus I've had my rear disc swap for a good year now and they run and wear evenly
