Cherryokee's life was terminated on our Wednesday morning commute by a driver texting while cruising at ~65mph in the left lane. We were stopped at a work zone but the other guy looked up from his very important messages just a few milliseconds too late and he stuffed us real good in the tail. The impact pin-balled us into the truck ahead of me. This is not a good way to shorten the wheelbase. It would have turned a happy 200k miles on our 15 year anniversary this weekend. My old friend saved my life and I was able to walk away. I often wondered if the airbags could/would ever deploy if I needed them - I guess I got my answer.

Had a busy day with the '95 today. Removed the AC compressor, accumulator and the hoses to the evaporator, and installed the bypass pulley. Removed and tossed the hoses from the thermostat housing to the radiator and heater core. Got the valve cover, rockers and pushrods removed. Did manage to break both breather fittings though. Took the power steering pump loose.

Had the fan relay stick on in my '99 XJ several years ago. I spent a week having to pop the hood and tap on the PDC to make the fan stop after shutting down.

Today I pulled my transmission to replace the torque converter. This was the 4th time in the past two months. First three times I was chasing a leak, got a remanufactured torque converter in at the third time which whined like crazy, so today I got the converter replaced under warranty and now things are good. For now...
In the past 8 months that I've owned this jeep, I've pulled the transmission 7 times. Anyone want to know how to do it? I've memorized it, and can pull it in under 2 hours.

There's something quite lovely about that picture. Can't put my finger on it though.

My front bilsteins finally came in I took out the bar pins and used energy suspension bushings and bpe's but I think I purchased the wrong size shock!
I only have about 5 inches of the rod showing now I'm thinking a one inch spacer up front? Any suggestions? I doubt that they will take them back after I installed them and put different bushings on.
